Available in white or pink, the O2 dongle, known as the USB modem E160, is MAC and PC compatible.

Perfect as a Christmas present, users receiving the O2 dongle can simply top up with the data usage they need.

Options include paying £2 for one day’s worth of data (500MB), £7.50 for one week (1GB data) and £15 for one month (3GB data).

Once topped up and plugged into a users laptop or desktop, the dongle connects to the O2 network which provides mobile broadband speeds up to 3.6Mbps.

There’s also unlimited access to over 6,100 Wi-Fi hotspots in the UK provided by The Cloud and BT Openzone.

Mobile operator 3 has cut the price of its pay as you go mobile broadband dongle and its 3GB ready to go mobile broadband starter kit.

New customers now need only pay a one off £19.99 for 3’s ZTE MF627 USB modem dongle. They can then top up their dongle with 1GB’s worth of data usage allowance for £10, 3GB’s for £15 and 7GB’s for £25.

A 3GB data usage allowance enables users to send 3,000 emails a month, surf the internet for 30 hours a month, download 96 four minute music tracks and download 15 four minute videos.

T-Mobile has today launched a range of new pay per day mobile broadband packages starting from just £2 per day.

Offering mobile broadband download speeds up to 4.5Mb, the packages are £2 for 1 days access, £10 for 7 days or £20 for 30 days.
