The news follows an announcement by BT that it is bringing forward around £300 million pounds worth of investment in order to give two thirds of UK premises access to its fibre optic broadband network (BT Infinity) by the end of 2014 – one year early.

The headline 40Meg broadband speeds are expected to double to up to 80Meg speeds by the spring of next year.

BT (www.BT.com/autumndeals) has unveiled its BT Autumn deals which offer new BT Broadband customers 4 months free Broadband and Calls.

The deal, which can only be ordered online at the www.BT.com website offers unlimited UK calls during the evenings and all weekend, plus up to 20Mbps broadband speeds with a 10GB monthly usage limit.

The deal also includes the BT Home Hub wireless router, generous online storage to help users protect & share their files, a free 24/7 helpline, plus unlimited free Wi-Fi access at over 3 million Wi-Fi hotspots.

Available to order online only at the www.bt.com/tvoffer website, the deal also includes a free BT Vision+ set top box worth £199, BT’s Smart Wireless Home Hub worth £91, plus free Wi-Fi access at over 2.8 million hotspots across the UK.

The TV element of the deal is BT Vision’s new Essential package which comes with Freeview as standard, plus the ability to record, pause and rewind live TV with the BT Vision+ set top box.

Viewers can also use the Catch Up TV service which includes the BBC iPlayer on their own television, whilst there’s also pay per view access to all the latest blockbuster films, sport and TV shows.
